Well the beginning of 2014 has been an incredible six weeks so far and it doesn’t look like letting up any time soon. I’ve managed to snatch half hour between a couple of lessons to bring everybody up to speed. So, deep breath… Here we go!
I’ve just this week returned from my Asia tour, soaking up as much international music as possible and wrestling my sax from my suitcase whenever I had the chance. We spent some great evenings around camp fires and in bars during the trip, which was inspirational to say the least. I was very sorry to be leaving, but I had to come back as another trip was beckoning…
This time it’s continental Europe calling me along. I’m going to be in France next week and Germany not long afterwards. I’m particularly excited about the Bavarian tour as I’m booked on five dates with London’s very best swing singer Brett Warren. Cannot wait to get on stage with him, an incredibly electric presence – see for yourself!
By the time March rolls around, I’ll be packing my bags again for a very exciting 7 date tour in Israel with the famous Moni Tivony. After an incredible run in last year’s The Voice, our very own ‘Jewmaican’ is tearing up the international circuit and I’m privileged to be his chosen saxophonist.
In a seemingly endless connection with The Voice, another close friend has also recently made his debut on the hit TV show. Jamie Johnson convinced Tom Jones and Kylie Minogue to hit their buttons, with his fantastic vocals. We have worked extensively together on music projects and even released tracks together – Bright Lights and Into Your Eyes are both live on iTunes. Wishing Jamie the best of luck!
If you’re interested in Jamie Johnson, stay tuned for an exciting announcement coming soon!
